Comb honey
Honey presented in its original comb or portions thereof.
Extracted honey
This is commonly known “honey”. Honey removed from the comb and presented in several forms, as defined in the US Department of Agriculture Standards for Grades:
(1) liquid
(2) crystallized or granulated
(3) partially crystallized.
FORMS OF HONEY
Blended Honey
A homogeneous mixture of two or more honeys differing in floral source, color, flavor, density or geographic origin.
Crystallized Honey / Granulated Honey
Honey in which part of the natural glucose content has spontaneously crystallized from solution as the monohydrate.
Filtered Honey
Honey processed by filtration to remove extraneous solids and pollen grains.
Organic Honey
Honey produced, processed, and packaged in accordance with State and Federal regulations on honey and organic products, and certified by a State Department of Agriculture or an independent organic farming certification organization.
Raw Honey
Honey as it exists in the beehive or as obtained by extraction, settling or straining without adding heat.
Strained Honey
Honey which has been passed through a mesh material to remove particulate material such as pieces of wax, propolis, other defects, without
removing pollen.

The Quran, a Holy Book of Muslims, dedicates a whole chapter namely “Surah Al-Nahal (means Honey Bee)”. The Quran says:
“And thy Lord taught the bee to build its cells in hills, on trees and in (men’s) habitations…there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colours, wherein is healing for mankind. Verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought”.
According to Hadith, Propet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) said:
“Honey is Cure for every disease”.
Also said:
“One who eats Honey in the morning for 3 days in a month, he would never be suufered by a major disease in the said month (Ibn-e-Maja)”.
Honey is the only Tonic in the world that kills viruses. Honey is equally helpful for 1 day infant or 100 years old person.
Honey contains small amounts of a wide array of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants. The vitamins found in honey may include (depending on floral variety) niacin, riboflavin and pantothenic acid; minerals present include calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium and zinc.
Honey is a treat, and is man’s oldest sweetener. It is an excellent substitute for sugar in our drinks and food. It is also good for many medicinal uses and treating certain conditions.
