Tomatoes, vinegar or citrus juice help tenderize meats. For long cook times, taste and add additional citrus during the last 15-30 minutes if desired.

Burnt Rice Remedy

August 5th, 2009 kabuter No comments

If your rice is scorched or burned you can take that taste out of your rice easily by using a piece of bread. Just lay a piece of bread on the rice (in a fresh pan or bowl) and cover it for a few minutes. The bread will soak up the burnt smell and taste and your rice will be fresh tasting for supper. If your rice has been sitting a few minutes you can put it in the microwave for a minute with a slice of bread for the same results.
